Nigeria’s under 20 women’s national team known as Falconets have defeated South Korea to qualify for the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 WWC going on in Costa Rica.
Falconets defeated the South Koreans, 1-0 in a fiercely contested group stage match played on Sunday night, at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto, Alajuela.

Esther Onyenezide’s, 83rd-minute goal separated both sides cementing Nigeria’s spot in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 WWC, the girls celebrated the goal with Kizz Daniels’s hit song Buga.

Recall that the Falconets had earlier defeated France in the first game by 1-0, and have now also defeated South Korea in their second game.
The Chris Danjuma-led team has now qualified with 6 points and a game in hand, they face Canada in their final group game scheduled for the early hours of Thursday, August 18, 2022.
