One of the every things that make a state’s economy grow is the freedom of movement of goods and services within a state.

But in Enugu State that has not been the case for weeks now.

The proscribed Independent Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB) is gradually turning the economy of the state south, with a sit at home order.

It has become necessary for the state government to make necessary moves to save the state’s economy.

As a result, the government has issued a directive, announcing the resumption of normal activities on Monday

Also, it threatened to sanction civil servants, schools, markets, and others that observe the illegal IPOB order.

This directive was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia.

In the statement released on Saturday, he said: “The Enugu State Government wishes to remind the good people and residents of the state that the ban on the illegal Monday sit-at-home order remains effective.

“In view of this, we direct civil servants, schools, markets, financial institutions, business premises, and others, to resume normal activities on Monday.”

Sanctions For IPOB’s Sit-At-Home Adherence

If you have started enjoying a period of sitting at home while your salary will come, you must jettison that habit you are brewing.

You see, the state government says it will apply sanctions against the illegal order’s defaulters.

“Any market that does not open to customers on Monday will face indefinite closure, and shops within such markets that remain closed on Monday will be sealed and reallocated to enthusiastic business owners in the state.”

“We have warned of sanctions for schools, financial institutions, malls, and others defying the directive.”

Mr. Onyia emphasised that the sit-at-home order contradicts Igbo values.

“Therefore, we urge the general public to go about their normal daily activities as we have put adequate security measures in place to protect lives and property,” he said.

The trouble that the sit-at-home in Enugu State is whipping up is getting momentum from the decision of President Bola Tinubu to remove petrol subsidy without palliatives.

However, in the video is what the government claims it is doing to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
