When a player’s active football days are coming to an end, no transfer offer seems to interest him. Real Madrid flop, Eden Hazard, is in that position right now.
He is a free agent, but he is reportedly mulling over retirement after snubbing advances from MLS and Ligue 1.
The 32-year-old Belgian forward saw a forgettable four-year stint at Santiago Bernabeu brought to a close at the end of the 2022-23 campaign when he was released from the final year of his contract.
Hazard has been without a club ever since, despite attracting plenty of interest.
Teams from Saudi Arabia and America, who were keen on Hazard prior to seeing him become a free agent, have reportedly asked questions of his availability.
Three sides from France – Nice, Marseille and Lille – are also keen, while there have been approaches from leading outfits in Turkey.
Hazard has knocked all of that interest back, with FootMercato claiming that he may decide to hang his boots for good.
As he is enjoying time with his family, there is no desire on the Belgian’s part to rush into a decision regarding his future.
Hazard was considered to be one of the best players on the planet when leaving Premier League giants Chelsea for Madrid in 2019.
