“We urge all Ebonyians, regardless of political party, tribe or ethnic preference, to join hands with Francis Nwifuru to push Ebonyi State to the next level of infrastructure, economic, and socio-cultural development.
Ebonyi Youths, through the Youth Leaders Forum Coalition, on Saturday, called on the gubernatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to withdraw all litigations against the Governor-elect, Francis Nwifuru.
The PDP’s governorship candidate, Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, and the APGA’s governorship candidate, Professor Ifeanyi Benard Odoh, had taken Nwifuru of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to court, challenging the process that led to his victory in the last governorship election on March 18, 2023.
The youth groups made this known in a statement signed by Raymond Okoro of NYC, Godwin Emerji for NYCN, Stanley Kamani for NGOs & CSOs, Chief Ben Nwovu for Izzi Nnodo Youths Forum, Chukwunweolu Emmanuel for NANC, Emeka Julius for Grassroot Youths and Emmanuel Ibiam for EPM.
The statement read in part: “We the youths of Ebonyi State, as the realistic prospects of Ebonyi Project, therefore call on our prospective leaders in Ebonyi State and co-youths, in the persons of Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii (Anyichuks) and Prof. Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, to withdraw their litigations and all legal quagmires against the last governorship election in the state.
“Such legal squabbles are not healthy for the development of Ebonyi State and the entrenchment of unity and brotherhood in our socio-political cohesion as a people, reviving from long years of collective marginalisation by people who felt Ebonyi State and Ebonyians should be subservient and subjugated.

“We urge all Ebonyians, regardless of political party, tribe or ethnic preference, to join hands with Chief Francis Nwifuru to push Ebonyi State to the next level of infrastructure, economic, and socio-cultural development.
“All of these lawsuits will be a waste of scarce resources that could have been used for state development and youth empowerment.
“We urge all litigants who opposed the past elections to sheath their swords and use their limited resources to pave the basis for the upcoming elections.
“The two governor candidates have nothing to lose by withdrawing their petitions because they are still in their peak years.
“If God says they will lead Ebonyi State, they still have a chance to demonstrate their leadership potentials and good policies in 2031 and 2039, respectively.”
