In a world where advocacy for gender equality is very loud, Williams Uchemba has come out to make an assertion that may not sit well with some persons.
Following a story shared online by a successful woman who lost everything she laboured for as a result of her marriage, the Nigerian actor shared his experience.
Williams Uchemba recounted when he was courting his wife and she was always shopping for groceries without asking him for money.
According to him, he kept making the observation until he could no longer bear it, so he confronted her to always ask him for money anytime she wants to go shopping.
“There is something in a man, some call it ego. There is something that God has put in a man to provide.
“A man is built to not just protect but provide.
“Ladies, if you are dating someone that is comfortable with being jobless because you have a good job, Run.

It is a red flag because when God created Adam, the first thing God gave him was a job and when the job was too much, God said it is not good for this man to be alone. Let us give him a helper.
Williams emphasised that, one of the primary purpose of a wife is to help and support what the man is doing, not to be breadwinner or a provider.
