American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday, September 17, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel on 57th Street in Manhattan.
Homeland Security Investigations took Combs into custody at approximately 8:15 p.m. The arrest was confirmed by Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), in a statement released Monday night, September 17, 2024.
The indictment against Combs remains sealed. Marc Agnifilo, Combs’s lawyer, suggested that the charges may include racketeering and sex trafficking.
The arrest follows investigations into sex trafficking and related allegations. Raids were conducted on Combs’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami earlier this year.
Diddy faces multiple sexual assault allegations. The most recent lawsuit was filed in May 2024 by fashion student April Lampros.
Lampros claims Combs assaulted her after giving her gifts and flowers. She alleges he plied her with alcohol during a 1995 encounter at a SoHo bar.
Lampros claims she was raped at the Millennium Hotel, and awoke the following morning disoriented and without clothing.
The investigation continues as the sealed indictment remains under wraps.
