In a remarkable display of African excellence, four Nigerian music singers have been nominated for the prestigious 56th NAACP Image Awards.
Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Tems have made the cut in various categories, solidifying their positions as leading figures in the global music industry.
The NAACP Image Awards, presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, recognise outstanding achievements and contributions of people of color in the arts, literature, media, and entertainment.
This year’s nominations see Wizkid leading the pack with two nominations, while Burna Boy, Davido, and Tems each received one nomination.
The nominated songs include “Coming Home” by Usher featuring Burna Boy, “Piece of My Heart” by Wizkid featuring Brent Faiyaz, “Hmmm” by Chris Brown featuring Davido, “Love Me JeJe” by Tems, and “Piece of My Heart” by Wizkid featuring Brent Faiyaz.
The Awards winners will be announced on live broadcast on February 22, 2025.
