Joao Cancelo is reportedly wanted by two Saudi Pro League clubs after his Barcelona loan spell as Manchester City seek to cash in on the Portuguese.
After his loan spell with Barcelona ended, the Catalan club is eager to extend his stay.
However, City, the club that holds his rights, prefers a permanent transfer over another loan which has put the Catalan club in a complex situation.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Al-Ahli and Al-Ettifaq are keen on signing Cancelo.
City demands at least £25 million ($31.8m) for the player and the Saudi clubs might be the only ones able to meet City’s valuation.
Barcelona acknowledge the complexities involved in bringing Cancelo back.
They are exploring alternative options should they fail to secure another loan for the Portuguese defender.
The club’s priority is to avoid a permanent transfer fee, preferring a loan without the obligation to buy, a condition Manchester City is currently reluctant to agree to.
