The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

This marks a change from the traditional summer schedule, which was shifted to avoid a clash with the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

Morocco will host the tournament, with the draw set to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 4.

The qualifiers will run from September to November 2024.

The 2025 AFCON will be the first to be held in December and January, and will feature 24 teams from across the continent.
