Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi is set to stay at Barcelona this season after talks with the Board hit a brick wall.
The legendary Argentine had sent a burofax to the club, stating his interest in leaving the club after a disappointing campaign.
He triggered a clause in his contract that allows him to walk away at the end of any campaign, but the Board argued that the clause expired in June, meaning his €700 million release clause remains valid.

With Manchester City refusing to match the clause, the Argentine may have to wait at least one more season to reunite with former manager, Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
