Breaking: INEC Suspends Collation In Abuja Till Tomorrow

Nigerians anticipating the results of the 2023 presidential election, will have to wait for another day. 

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yakubu Mahmoud, says the process will continue on Monday. 

Although, Nigerians had hoped to get the results of many states as the collation centre reopened at 6:00PM.

According to the INEC chairman, the conference will reconvene by 11:00AM tomorrow.

INEC took the decision because most state electoral officers or vice chancellor are yet to finish compilation of the results from their states.

The decision was taken after the Ekiti state official presented the results from the state.

The chairman of INEC promised to ensure the provision of logistics for the officials coming from other states in situations where there are no commercial flights available.

APC Wins In Ekiti By Landslide

In Ekiti state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled the most votes with 201,494 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 89,554 votes.

However, the Labour Party(LP) came in at a distant third with 11,397 votes and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 264 votes.
