Even enemies and opposition will at this time sheath their swords, knowing that this lot could fall on anyone.
At a time when many are celebrating the joy of Christmas and the coming of a new year, the Akeredolu family and the people of Ondo State are now mourning.
Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo succumbed to the cold hands of death after a long battle with ill health.

Akeredolu died at the age of 67, in Lagos, in the early hours of Wednesday.
It was learnt that the secret hospital where his health was being managed was looking for a dialysis machine last week without any success.
People say the situation was a testament to the ailing nature of Nigeria’s health sector.
The Ondo State governor who has had a serious health challenge for sometimes, returned to Nigeria in September.
He had spent some three-months on medical leave in Germany.
Weeks after his return, the ailing governor was directed to take another medical leave by President Bola Tinubu.
He was also asked to hand over state powers to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, by President Bola Tinubu.
Leukemia Battle
SaharaReporters exclusively reported in January that Akeredolu was treating leukemia.
“The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu has leukemia,” one of the sources in the Alagbaka Government House revealed at that time.
Leukemia is a cancer of the blood caused by a rise in the number of white blood cells in the body.
For sufferers, the white blood cells crowd out the red blood cells and platelets needed by the body to stay healthy.
White blood cells are potent infection fighters which grow and divide in an orderly way, as the body needs them.
But in people with leukemia, the bone marrow produces an excessive amount of abnormal white blood cells, that malfunctions.
It is a cancer of blood-forming tissues that hinder the body’s ability to fight infections.
Leukemia could be acute lymphoblastic, acute myeloid, and chronic lymphocytic.
Treatment for leukemia can be complex depending on the type of leukemia and other factors.
Symptoms may include weakness or fatigue, fever or chills, infections that are severe or keep coming back, and joint or bone pains.
Ssadly, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is one of the few politicians who did not survive the year 2023.
The death of Akeredolu is coming at the same time Nigeria lost its Former Speaker Na’Abba.
