Crossdresser Bobrisky has declared he will no longer accept any awards or recognitions intended for females, attributing his recent woes to an award received from actress Eniola Ajao.
The controversy began in March 2024 when Bobrisky was honoured with the Best Dressed Female award at Ajao’s movie premiere.
The accolade, which came with a ₦1 million cash prize, was followed by a series of legal troubles for the crossdresser.
Shortly after the event, Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of naira abuse and sentenced to six months in jail.
His legal troubles deepened when leaked audio emerged, allegedly implicating him in bribing EFCC officials to secure a luxurious jail stay and evade money laundering charges. The audio led to a public uproar and his subsequent re-arrest.
Following his release and subsequent escape from Nigeria, Bobrisky took to Instagram to reflect on his ordeal.
“My problems started when I collected the Best Dressed Female award with ₦1 million prize.”
For the rest of my life, if I see an award for best dressed female, I’ll leave the location immediately,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
The controversial crossdresser maintained his stance as a “baddie with class” while lamenting the fallout from accepting the award.
“When the problems become too much, I know when to run,” he added.
