Beyoncé received the Innovator Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night which was presented to her by Stevie Wonder.
Expressing her gratitude, Beyoncé said, “I love you and I honor you. I want to thank you for making a way for all of us. I’m honored to receive this recognition from you, Stevie Wonder.”
“Whenever anyone asks me if there’s anyone I can listen to for the rest of my life, it’s always you.”
Beyoncé also thanked Stevie Wonder for his collaboration, mentioning his harmonica playing on her song “Jolene,” which was released as part of her latest album Cowboy Carter.
During her heartfelt acceptance speech, Beyoncé shared her thoughts on what being an innovator means to her.
She said, “Innovation starts with a dream, and the road to execute that dream can be very bumpy.”
“Being an innovator is doing what everyone believes is impossible. Being an innovator often means being criticized, which often will test your mental strength. Being an innovator is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you and guide you.”
