Now, bandits have killed an aide to the Governor of Katsina State, alongside his wife, and abducted his second wife in a tragic incident that has heightened concerns over security in the region.

The attack occurred late on Friday night in the governor’s aide’s residence.

According to local reports, the assailants broke into the house, shooting the aide and his wife on the spot before kidnapping the aide’s second wife.

The identity of the abducted woman has not yet been disclosed.

Katsina Police Confirm Attack

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that terrorists have killed Sanusi Gyaza, an aide to the state governor, Dikko Radda.

The spokesman for the command, Abubakar Sadiq, made the confirmation on Sunday.

He told reporters that, “yes, we are aware, and we are on top of the situation”.

Katsina has witnessed increased activities of hoodlums, including kidnappings and killings, with over 14 local governments reportedly under the control of bandits and terrorists.

Terrorists and bandits frequently target farmers for abduction, leading to the abandonment of farmlands in many areas. This has contributed to Nigeria’s food insecurity.

Also, bandits frequently target markets, looting goods and abducting businesspeople.

The attack on Gyaza’s residence and the manner of the killings and abduction, especially as he’s a known and high-profile resident, has left many in shock.
