Appointment of ex-militant curb kidnapping along the creeks in Cross River

The Cross River State House of Assembly member representing Bakassi State Constituency, Hon Ekpo Ekpo says the appointment of ex-militant, Mr Simply Benjamin Ene as special adviser (SA), Marine Security would curb kidnapping along the creeks.

Speaking with DAILY POST via phone on Wednesday, Hon Ekpo lamented the rate of kidnapping in the state but acknowledged that the appointment of the ex-militant would certainly curb the incessant abduction of people in the state along the creeks.

“The new SA, marine security has the capacity to work and to achieve sanity and safety in the maritime territories of Cross River State. Therefore, I have no doubt in my mind about his competence.

“His efforts would surely boast genuine maritime businesses that will encourage tourism, fishing, trading and transportation necessary to boast the economy of the State. I see this office as very important and strategic for our economic advancement.

“And therefore, I congratulate the SA for his well deserved appointment and urge all our youths to rally around him to give him the necessary support that he requires to succeed, even as I thank the Governor for his wisdom in making this appointment” the Honourable member stated.
