Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua has been listed as one of the top three highest earners in boxing for 2024.
The former two-time heavyweight champion, despite a shocking defeat to Daniel Dubois in September, secured a guaranteed purse of £6 million from the Wembley Stadium fight, with potential earnings exceeding £25 million if pay-per-view buys reached 850,000.
Only Tyson Fury and Canelo Alvarez surpassed Joshua’s earnings this year. Fury, known as the Gypsy King, reportedly earned a staggering $100 million from his historic undisputed heavyweight bout against Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in May.
Mexican boxing icon Canelo Alvarez ranked just ahead of Joshua, with earnings of $35 million from his successful undisputed super middleweight title defence against Jaime Munguia at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Joshua’s opponent, Daniel Dubois, earned a guaranteed £3.5 million, with potential earnings up to £8 million depending on pay-per-view sales.
The fight saw Dubois knock Joshua down four times before achieving a fifth-round stoppage, marking a dramatic turn in Joshua’s 2024 earnings run.
