Akure: Man Reportedly Ends It All After Killing Wife

What could have made a love relationship turn sour to the extent of a man taking the life of his wife?

Could it be infidelity issues or the harsh economic condition Of Nigeria?

An Akure based petroleum products dealer, identified as Sesan Adelabu, AKA Emirate, has reportedly hacked his wife, identified as Bolu Adelabu, to death.

The incident occurred in their residence at the Alagbaka GRA area of the city on Friday, February 9, 2024.

According to Channels Television, after killing his wife, Adelabu was said to have ended it all by drinking a poisonous substance suspected to be an insecticide.

An officer of the Special Protection Unit from the A Division Station in Akure, attached to his residence on Friday evening, received a distress call from a son of the deceased, who saying he had put a call to the father several times without response.

However, on entering the house, the policeman discovered Adelabu’s lifeless body on the floor in the toilet.

Also, the remains of his wife were found on the bed. Her lifeless body had several matches wounds.

There was also an empty bottle of insecticide on the floor.

meanwhile the police said the remains of Adelabu and his wife have since been evacuated to the mortuary by the police.

In addition, a press statement from the spokesperson for Ondo State Police Command, SP ‘Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident.

According to Omisanya, an investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident.

She says the scene has been cordoned off to enable police do the needful.

Furthermore, the police said the deceased both had four kids together.
