Activist Aisha Yesufu has addressed allegations that she is working to undermine social critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman (VDM).
The accusations stem from her recent support of the Falanas, who demanded a retraction and apology from VDM following comments he made in connection with a purported audio recording involving Bobrisky.
The controversy began when VDM shared an audio clip where Bobrisky allegedly claimed that rapper Falz had approached him, offering a presidential pardon through his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, for a payment of 10 million naira to clear his criminal records.
VDM expressed shock at the Falanas’ alleged association with Bobrisky, adding a comment which some interpreted as questioning Falz’s sexual orientation.
The Falanas have since indicated their intention to take legal action against VDM.
Last week, Aisha Yesufu weighed in, stating that if the Falanas did not address the “rift” with VDM, it could be perceived as an admission of guilt regarding the accusations made in the audio.
Some Nigerians, however, have accused her of siding with the Falanas to bring VDM down.
Reacting to the claim of attempting to pull VDM down, Aisha in a post shared on her X handle, wrote
I have just seen an accusation that all I am interested in is to bring VDM down 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As in because I want to do his work or I want to be helping people?I have said here severally, I do not want to help people. I just want people to not need my help and anyone that takes on…
