German multinational corporation Adidas has officially concluded all legal proceedings with American rapper Kanye West, known as Yeezy.
This decision follows the termination of their partnership in 2022, prompted by public outcry from the American Jewish Committee over West’s antisemitic remarks.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden announced that the company had reached an out-of-court settlement with West, clarifying that the resolution did not involve any financial exchange.
“The drama with West belongs to the past. Negotiations and settlements have been done,” Gulden stated, although he did not disclose specific details of the agreement.
After ending its partnership with West, Adidas was left with Yeezy stock valued at approximately €1.2 billion (£840 million).
With the conclusion of the legal dispute, the company confirmed that it plans to sell the remaining Yeezy inventory by the end of 2024.
