FG Begins Moving Nigerian Students From Sudan-Egypt (Photos)

The Nigerian government has commenced the movement of Nigerian students stranded in war-torn Sudan.

They have been moved to a location where they would be air-lifted back to Nigeria.

It has not been an easy time for the students, as they cried out daily for help.

Finally, they are hopeful, they would return home and unite with their families safely.

The Nigerian government did not also have it easy. There was so much pressure on them.

Concerned citizens on daily basis called out the government to ensure the safe return of the students in Sudan.

War Is A Terrible Thing

Now, there is a-three-day ceasefire in Sudan and the government of Nigeria has seized the opportunity to bring back the stranded students.

The development was disclosed on Wednesday morning by the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

The students will be moved to Egypt where they will be air-lifted to Nigeria.

Sharing pictures of the process, Dabiri lamented that war is a terrible thing.

She also solicited prayers for the safe return of the affected persons.

“As our students in Sudan queued up orderly to board their buses to Egypt enroute to Nigeria, supervised by Nigerian mission officials in Sudan.

“Let’s remember them in our prayers as they journey home. War is a terrible thing !!”

As at the time of filing this report, buses to convey them had arrived and the process is ongoing.
