Award-winning filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has opened up about the divine inspiration behind her highly anticipated December film, “Behind The Scenes.”
Speaking during the FilmOne end-of-year exhibitor showcase, Akindele disclosed that the movie was not part of her initial plans.

According to her, she had begun preparations for a sequel to her record-breaking blockbuster, “A Tribe Called Judah,” but kept receiving clear spiritual instructions to pause that project.
Akindele revealed that despite working on four different scripts and exploring collaborations with other top filmmakers.
However, she felt consistently led to create “Behind The Scenes,”
“We weren’t supposed to release ‘Behind The Scenes’. I actually wanted to release ‘A Tribe Called Judah 2’. We had started rehearsals, negotiations, and training. But the Spirit of God kept saying, ‘No, you will not shoot that film.’ We tried four other scripts, lovely ones, and the Spirit of God said, ‘You’re joking.’ Even when we planned to partner with another filmmaker, the Spirit said, ‘You’re wasting your time. You will shoot this film.’ The idea came from one simple scene, and I knew it was relatable because many people are going through what this story portrays,” she said.
Produced under the Funke Akindele Network, “Behind The Scenes” is set for a December 12, 2025 release across cinemas nationwide.
The film promises to unveil the realities and emotional struggles hidden behind success and fame.
They offers a touching and reflective narrative that audiences can deeply connect with.
