Gunmen Demand N100m To Release Ondo Monarch

72 hours after abducting Ondo Monarch, Oba Clement Jimoh of Oso Ajowa Akoko in Akoko West Local Government, gunmen have demanded a sum of N100 million to release him.

The monarch was abducted on Thursday night at his residence and was taken to an unknown location.

The gunmen had shot sporadically in the air and at the main door of the monarch’s building to gain access to him.

A source told the Punch that the kidnappers had contacted the family on Saturday and demanded the ransom payment.

Punch also reported that the members of the community have organized interdenominational services for the safe return of Oba Jimoh.

Mr. Soji Ogedengbe, a community leader revealed that prayers, fasting, and vigils were ongoing for the safe return of the monarch.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, said policemen have been deployed to the forest to rescue Oba Jimoh.
