The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained one of its officers, Sunday Dada, for shooting an operative of the Department of State Services, Seyi Adebowale.
The incident occured on September 15 in Kuta town, during the visit of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai, to the state.
Dada and Adebowale reportedly returned to the palace of Olowu Kuta alongside other security personnel late in the evening after completing their duties.

Under mysterious circumstances, Adebowale was hit in his lower abdomen by a bullet from Dada’s gun, and died 13 days later on September 28 at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
He was buried on Friday, October 2nd.
Spokesman for the NSCDC in the state, Daniel Adigun, described the incident as resulting from an operational error.
