The governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki has finally decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Obaseki had earlier this week resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, having been disqualified by the National Working Committee, NWC.
Irked by the incident the outspoken governor visited the governor of Rivers state, Nyesome Wike, who awash him with political advice.

However, having met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, Obaseki today announced his decampment, saying “I have formally joined PDP”.
A statement from the party’s twitter handle gives more insight to Obaseki’s action.
Read the statement below: “The governor of Edo State, H. E. @GovernorObaseki, has defected to our great Party, the @OfficialPDPNig, The declaration was made this afternoon at the state Secretariat of our party in Benin city, Edo State. Power to the people. #EdoIsPDP. @officialKolaO”.
