American rapper Soulja Boy has addressed the backlash surrounding his decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball.
Alongside fellow artistes Nelly and Snoop Dogg, Soulja Boy has faced criticism from fans who feel betrayed by their participation in the event.
In an Instagram Live video, Soulja Boy explained that he was paid for his performance, stating that Trump was the only figure to offer him financial compensation.
He remarked, “Obama ain’t never put no money in my fcking pockets, ngga. Kamala ain’t never put no money in my pockets. Trump put money in my pockets.”
In contrast, rapper Nelly has defended his own performance at the event, describing it as an act of honor rather than a financial decision.
