“I wouldn’t say it was pressure, but growing up, I always heard people talk about how my dad helped or fought for them,” Falz shared.

“Whenever I mentioned my name, the reaction was always, ‘Which Falana? Femi Falana? Oh wow.’ It left a lasting impression on me, and I aspired to emulate what he was doing.”

Falz noted that, although he studied law and practiced briefly, his decision to leave the field came naturally as his music career began to gain momentum.

“I practiced law for a very short time, almost two years. I worked at the Ministry of Justice during my youth service in 2012, then at my father’s firm in 2013.”

“By 2014, things started picking up for me musically, and I gradually moved away from practicing law,” he added with a laugh.
