Adidas and Orlando Pirates have unveiled their 2024/25 season jersey, paying tribute to James Sofasonke Mpanza.
The jersey design is a nod to the team’s rich history and legacy, blending aesthetics, symbolism, and functionality.
The home jersey features the iconic Orlando Pirates logo and a sleek black, white, and red color palette, while the away jersey introduces a seasonal green tone, symbolizing diversity and community.
Both jerseys are made from 100% recycled materials, incorporating adidas’ innovative technology for moisture-wicking and airflow management.
The design also features a back-neck sign-off honoring James Sofasonke Mpanza, a powerful symbol of leadership and defiance.
Mpanza, known as the “Father of Soweto,” was instrumental in forming Orlando Pirates in 1937 and laid the foundation for the team’s success.
The jerseys will be available online and in-store from July 22 and 25, respectively, in men’s, women’s, and kids’ sizes.
The players will debut the new jersey on August 3, 2024, when the new season begins.
