An area in Ojuelegba, Lagos state was almost thrown into panic on Sunday.
Three people narrowly escaped alive from a ghastly motor accident. A 40-foot container fell over their vehicle, a Toyota Corolla.
The scary incident happened at 8 o’clock and shocked the neighbourhood.
According to eyewitnesses, the enormous truck carrying the loaded containers was attempting to cross a bridge when it crashed.
The truck, which had the licence plate JJJ-811-FV, was struck hard as it lost its balance and careered off the bridge.
Taht container landed on the small vehicle with the three occupants.
Swift Action In Ojuelegba
Bystanders immediately swung into action by alerting the authorities.
This led to a swift response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders.
Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (FIRS), Margaret Adeseye, issued a statement recounting the incident.
She revealed that the victims trapped within the mangled car included two adult males and one female.
Adeseye’s statement emphasised the urgency of the rescue operation.
“The rescue alert, which was triggered at 20:45 hours on Sunday, saw the Sari Iganmu Rescue Crew of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
Emergency Response
“Also, other State Emergency Responders and sympathetic onlookers, successfully extricate two adult males and one adult female from the crushed vehicle.
“Remarkably, the trailer driver and his assistant managed to escape unharmed.“

The three fortunate survivors were promptly administered first aid at the accident site before being transported to the Lagos State Accident and Trauma Center for further medical attention.
Their condition is currently being closely monitored.
