From Qatar Arrest To Courtroom: Killaboi Faces Trial Over Killing Of 21-Year-Old Influencer

The trial of Nigerian punter, Benjamin Best, popularly known as Killaboi, is set to commence on Thursday, 15.

This is at the Lagos State High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).

The development was confirmed by Cordelia Okonye, mother of the late social media influencer Augusta Onuwabhagbe.

She shared the update via her Instagram Stories.

In her post, Okonye urged members of the public to attend the court proceedings.

She stated that the trial would reveal the truth behind her daughter’s death.

The trial will be heard at the High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square. Everyone should come and listen to Killaboi confess,” she wrote.

Recall that Augusta Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student of Lead City University, Ibadan.

Also, she was allegedly murdered on 13 July 2023 at Killaboi’s residence.

Following the incident, Killaboi reportedly fled Nigeria and was subsequently declared wanted by Nigerian authorities.

Also, this sparks widespread outrage on social media and calls for justice.

In February 2025, Killaboi was arrested in Qatar after months on the run.

Also, he was later extradited to Nigeria in April 2025 to face prosecution over the alleged murder.

The commencement of the trial marks a significant step in the pursuit of justice for Augusta Onuwabhagbe, whose death drew national attention.

Also, it reignited conversations around violence against women and accountability within Nigeria.
