Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has spoken honestly about the difficult period he went through after joining Watford, calling it one of the hardest times in his career.

The Nigerian goalkeeper has now found his form again at Udinese in Serie A.
Okoye explained that he joined Watford while still recovering from shoulder surgery, which made things even more challenging.
“My time at Watford was challenging, a lot was happening, not only on the pitch but also off it.”
“I was younger and dealing with many things at the same time, including recovering from shoulder surgery.”
“It was a tough period,” he told Footy-Africa.
He said he learned important lessons from that experience.
“Maybe I didn’t deal with some situations in the best way, but I learned from them and I’ve grown a lot.”
Maduka Okoye did not make any league appearance for Watford and was later sent on loan to Sparta Rotterdam.
However, moving to Italy became a turning point in his career.
“I got another chance at Udinese, and I took it. I’ve become a better player and a better man,” he said.
His strong and consistent performances have now made him Udinese’s first-choice goalkeeper, showing how much he has grown both on and off the field.
