The Super Eagles of Nigeria have boycotted their training session in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of Thursday’s, November 13, 2025, crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff against Gabon.

According to veteran BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, the players and officials jointly refused to train on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, due to unresolved issues regarding unpaid allowances and bonuses.
In a statement reportedly shared by the squad, the team confirmed the protest, saying:
“The full squad including officials withheld from training today in Morocco because of the unresolved issues with outstanding payments.”
“The Super Eagles are awaiting a quick resolution to continue preparations for Thursday’s game with Gabon.”
The boycott comes just two days before Nigeria face Gabon in the semi-final of the World Cup Africa Playoff Tournament at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
A win would send the Super Eagles into the final playoff, where they are set to face either Cameroon or DR Congo.
