Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed they are providing support to Italian international defender Destiny Udogie and his family after the 22-year-old was allegedly threatened with a gun in London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, a 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred in September, and has since been released on bail as investigations continue.

Police were called late in the evening on Saturday, September 6, 2025, to reports that a man in his 20s had been threatened with a firearm in a north London suburb known to be home to several Tottenham and Arsenal players.

A Tottenham Hotspur spokesperson said

“We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so.”

“Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further.”

The club did not provide additional details, citing the ongoing police inquiry.

Udogie, who joined Tottenham from Udinese in 2022, has been one of the standout performers under manager Ange Postecoglou this season.

The young left-back made his debut for the Italian national team in 2023 and has quickly established himself as a rising star in European football.

Police say inquiries into the matter are ongoing and that the safety of the victim and his family remains a priority.
