The Federal Government has officially announced the cancellation of the Independence Day parade.
Independence Day parade was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in commemoration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

According to a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the cancellation does not diminish the importance of the milestone.
Also, the government noted that other programmes lined up for the anniversary celebrations will still hold as planned.
The statement further encouraged Nigerians to continue showing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms and developmental agenda.
