May 27, is a day sanctioned by UNICEF, to celebrate and appreciate the needs of children and address them. That special day is christened ‘The International Children’s Day’.
The Children’s Day is an international holiday that was first established in Nigeria in 1964.
The day is specifically to celebrate children, and raise awareness on issues that affect them.
Furthermore, it helps nations appreciate children as the future of societies.
This special day often features a series of events.
Parents get to spend special time with their kids.
Also, activities are organised; speeches are made, just as pledges are made to address the problems.
However, it seems as soon as the ceremony ends, nothing much is done until another year for another round of celebrations.

It was the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who made this known.
