There’s an alarming rate of depression and suicides in Nigeria, and it has no respect for social status, gender or age

The Benue State Police Command on Friday said one Terhemba Tyochivir, 17, committed suicide in Makurdi, the State Capital.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the police in the state,, SP Sewuese Anene, confirmed the incident.
According to her, the unfortunate incident happend on Thursday.
She said before his death, he was a student of Government Secondary School, Gboko.

Anene said that the details of the incident remained sketchy even though it was reported at the E Division Police Station, Makurdi.
The deceased was rushed to Bishop Murray Hospital Makurdi, where Doctors confirmed him dead.
It remains unclear the circumstances surrounding his decision to commit suicide, but speculations are rife that he may have been depressed.
