The Lagos State Government has urged residents and visitors to maintain social responsibility and be safety conscious while celebrating to prevent avoidable accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
This was announced in a release signed by the Director-General, of Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola.
The Director-General said that the festive season is characterised by lots of parties and events and there is a need for responsible socialising and safety consciousness.
He advised fun-seekers attending parties and concerts to always note exits and emergency muster points.
Mojola advised fun-seekers to drink responsibly as alcohol lowers mental alertness and coordination, urging them to not leave drinks unattended to avoid spiking.
He cautioned Lagosians on attending overcrowded events, to avoid stampedes or other unforeseen crises.
He stressed that events with over 250 persons should be registered with the Lagos state government.
