However, YouTube is introducing new features aimed at attracting and retaining premium subscribers.
First, the subscription plan will now include a higher-quality video option for web and iOS users.
Also, it supports co-watching videos on FaceTime through Apple’s SharePlay and other controls for managing your queue on mobile devices.

The launch of the new features also follows other recent additions, like being able to continue watching a video from where you left off on any device.
Also, there is a ‘smart downloads’ feature that automatically saves recommended videos for offline access.
For the new features, YouTube will begin rolling out an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality to Premium subscribers.
It would be available on iOS and then on the web in the weeks ahead.
All YouTube users will continue to have access to 1080p, the enhanced 1080p quality setting will make videos look “extra crisp and clear,” YouTube says.

Starting today, Premium users will now be able to add videos to their queue when watching on phones and tablets.
