Wrexham have confirmed that a first-team player was involved in a car accident, with James McClean named by eyewitnesses.
Wrexham have confirmed that a first-team player has been involved in a car crash, with social media users reporting that McClean was at the scene of the accident.
As per the Daily Post, an eyewitness identified the winger on Holt Road, near Wrexham Gold Club on Wednesday morning.
However, no serious injuries have been reported.
Also, Wrexham have released an official statement on their website, which reads:
“Wrexham AFC can confirm that a first-team player has been involved in a car accident this morning on his way to training.
“It was a single car accident with no other vehicles involved and the relevant local authorities were quickly present at the scene.
“The player reported to the club this morning and will undergo further medical checks as a precaution.”
A North Wales police spokesperson told the Daily Post:
“Shortly before 9am this morning we received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A534 in Wrexham, near to Wrexham Golf Club.
“Officers and colleagues from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident.
“They had to block the road until the vehicle was recovered shortly before 10am.
“No serious injuries were reported from the scene.”

However, Wrexham are set to play Birmingham City in a huge top-of-the-table League One clash on Thursday evening.
It remains to be seen if McClean will be able to be involved.
