The 2027 general election in Nigeria is still years ahead, but guess what?
Nigerian politicians have already begun preparations for that election.
However, as for the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, his victory is certain come 2027.
This episode of drama sparked on Saturday.
It was the inauguration of the NNPP’s Secretariat, along IBB Way, in Katsina.
There, Kwankwaso explained that he left the party because he saw the party had gone out of the line.
The former Kano State governor said he stands as the better candidate to win the 2027 election adding that the PDP is dead and cannot stand a chance of winning elections.
Kwankwaso’s message was clear and concise.
“I wish to remind you that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already dead, because we were in the party, since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,” he said.
The Kwankwasiyya leader urged Nigerians, particularly women and youths not to allow themselves to be “deceived with spaghetti or money during the next elections“.
Despite this message, and Kwankwaso’s confidence, one question lingers.
Will Kwankwaso win the 2027 election?
Well, Kwankwaso’s statement only appeared as a joke to the the Special Assistant on Media (Broadcast) to Atiku Abubakar, Abdul Rasheeth.
Reacting to Kwankwaso’s statement, Rasheeth said it was funny that Kwankwaso who got only 1.4 million votes in the last 2023 election, would make such a bold claim.
Rasheeth backed his reaction with a practical analysis all in an attempt to show that Kwankwaso’s dream of winning the 2027 election is impossible.
“Imagine you ran for President and received 1.4 million votes: 1 million from Kano and 400,000 from all over Nigeria.
You believe you can win against Tinubu,” Atiku’s aide said on his X handle.
