West Ham United will meet New York City FC forward Taty Castellanos’ $16 million asking price.
West Ham is willing to pay the full asking amount for Castellanos, according to the Mirror. Last season, the 23-year-old Argentine earned the Golden Boot and is still one among the league’s top goal scorers this season.
West Ham was first linked to Castellanos during the January transfer window, and new rumors about the London club’s renewed interest in Castellanos surfaced last week.
West Ham are said to be looking for a goal-scoring threat: The club finished seventh in the English Premier League, qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Castellanos was largely expected to depart NYCFC this year. While at NYCFC, the forward became one of the league’s most prolific goal scorers, and his technical talents and work rate are believed to be on par with those in a more competitive league.
