On March 18, people who woke up as Yoruba in Lagos State had a reason to ask themselves questions about their ethnicity.

Sadly, their crime was that they looked like Igbos.

Indeed, many sad stories and ordeal via viral videos on how they were beaten, intimidated, and disenfranchised.

Most of them said it was because they were Igbos or looked “Igbo”.

Brand influencer, content creator and writer, Eni Adeoluwa, is not happy with the incidents in the governorship election in Lagos.

He took to his Instagram page to slam tribalism among Nigerians.

“Stop fueling hate in the minds of people. Stop making tribalistic statements. We are one Nigeria”, he said.

Also, Eni added that if the seed of hatred being sown into the hearts of Nigerians in line with tribalistic differences was not checked, the aftermath even after the elections would be disastrous.

Eni added that tribalism will begin to encroach into areas like marriages, businesses, Jobs, Housing and others.

“In a state like Lagos, where allegations have been made about landlords not renting their houses to the Igbos, it may even get worse, as Igbos may want to retaliate by giving jobs and business deals to their kinsmen only.”

Furthermore, the influencer urged citizens of Nigeria to live as one regardless of their ethnic, religious, and political differences.
