Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury sustained while on international duty in November.
According to Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface experienced “a small step backwards in the rehabilitation process.” This update comes ahead of the team’s friendly match against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Boniface had recently made progress in his recovery, rejoining the team for training shortly before Christmas.
Initially, he was expected to return to action against Borussia Dortmund next weekend, but his return date is now uncertain.
This season, Boniface has been a key player for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in 15 appearances.
