
Nollywood veteran, Chiwetalu Agu has finally been released by the Nigerian Army after several hours of being detained in their custody.
The actor was arrested by men of the Nigerian Army on October 7, 2021 for dressing in an outfit that matches the Biafra flag.

The news of his release was made known by some of his colleagues on social media today October 8, 2021.
“Uncle Chiwetalu Agu has been released. He is safe and sound. All thanks to God and anyone who contributed one way or the other,” Chizzy Alichi wrote.
Before his release, the Nigerian Army issued a statement where they disclosed why the actor was being detained.
According to the statement, Agu was arrested for inciting members of the public and soliciting for support for the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
