Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh recently opened up about her past decision to divorce her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, calling it “the best decision” she ever made.
In a heartfelt exchange, Dikeh shared her experience and insights with a fellow single mother who had reached out to her for support.
The single mother, feeling overwhelmed by her own separation, sought advice from Dikeh through Instagram DM, asking how the actress managed after her ex left her and their son.
Dikeh responded by clarifying that she was the one who chose to leave the marriage, a decision made for the sake of her child and herself.
In her response, Dikeh explained, “First and foremost, I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around.
I needed to escape a difficult situation, not just for my own sake, but for my child as well. Best decision I ever made.”
She encouraged the woman to see her own power and potential for growth, emphasising that self-investment and commitment are key to overcoming life’s challenges.
Tonto Dikeh’s Post
Dikeh shared this message with her followers on Instagram, writing, “Dear single mothers, I don’t have a manual for these things.”
“I am neither a pro in this movement. My biggest teacher has been love. I just let God do his thing, and his thing is enough for me.”
“Draw strength from God, most especially keep your family matters private.”
Her marriage to Churchill, which ended in 2017 amidst allegations of infidelity and domestic violence, remains a topic of public discussion.
Despite their separation, the former couple has continued to have disputes on social media, with Dikeh accusing Churchill of being a negligent father, while he claims she has prevented him from seeing their son.
