Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has sent a message to his fellow contestant in the just concluded 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu accepted his victory as the elected president of Nigeria, after an announcement by the Independent Electoral Commission chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.
INEC declared him winner in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
The nation’s number one seat of power was fiercely contested by candidates from across 18 political parties.
Giving his victory acceptance speech this morning, Tinubu thanked all those who participated in Saturday’s election with particular mention of ‘Articulated’, ‘Obidients’, ‘BATified’ and ‘Kwankwasiyya’ supporters.
He said: “Whether you are BATified, Atikulated, Obidients or Kwankwasiyya, I must thank you for working hard to straighten our democratic system”.
Addressing those who contested the position with him, Tinubu said: “Let’s collaborated and work together. I promise to work with you”.
“It’s my turn actually,” elected Tinubu reiterated in his address at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.
“I am profoundly humbled to serve as the 16th President of our beloved country.
“This is a shining moment in the life of any man and an affirmation of our democratic existence.
“I take this opportunity to appeal to my fellow contestant to let us team up together.
“It is the only nation we have. It is one country and we must build together.”
