Singer Skales has asserted that his fellow musician and former label mate, Wizkid, never assisted him at any point in his career.
In a recent statement, the ‘Shake Body’ singer clarified that only his former record label boss, Banky W, alongside artistes Olamide and Timaya, offered him substantial support.
Skales, who also acknowledged Burna Boy’s backing, expressed his frustration with ongoing speculations that aim to pit artistes against each other.
He addressed his fans on social media, saying, “Put some respect on my name… I don tell una the only person sef wey help me na Olamide and Timaya and Banky W… much respect to Burna… you guys always love to see artiste go against each other but ama set the record straight… I’m done with this music and all I wanna do is make music and stay away from all that negative toxic bullshit… so love your fav and stop cooking up bullshit stories…”
In the comments section, a user named @Perfect_Mipo claimed that Wizkid played a significant role in Skales’ rise, stating, “Wizkid made you.” Skales refuted this, responding, “Ask him to tell you how… got respect for him, but he didn’t help me… if anything, Banky deserves the praise and respect for believing in teenagers.”
Both Skales and Wizkid were signed to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in the early 2010s and went on to achieve stardom before eventually departing from the label.
