A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan on Monday dissolved what it called ”an undefined relationship” of a student, Ms Basira Olalekan and her boyfriend, Habeeb.
Earlier, Olalekan, alleged that Habeeb, deceived her into staying with him for two years, dropping her last name and taking up his without marriage.
Delivering judgment, Chief Ademola Odunade the President of the court, held that there was no more intimacy between Basira and Habeeb again and that they were just in an ”undefined relationship”.
Odunade awarded custody of the only child to Olalekan.
He ordered Habeeb to pay a monthly allowance of N10,000 for the child’s upkeep.
Olalekan in a petition, said:” he only wants to be my boyfriend. He promised to marry me later on.

”After I got pregnant, he changed his mind. I later discovered that he was in another relationship with another woman.
”I met her once in his room when I visited him and expressed my displeasure, but he pacified me, promising that he would marry me and not the girl.
“Habeeb admitted responsibility for the pregnancy and sent me N5,000 to take care of myself initially, but later denied impregnating me.
“His mother also rejected me because her son poisoned her mind against me,” she said.
Testifying, Habeeb who is also a student, acknowledged that he met his girlfriend in 2018.
”Shortly after that, she got pregnant. All I wanted was a DNA test to prove that the baby was mine.
”My mother refused to accept her because this. I do not want to waste my money on another man’s child”, he said.
