In furtherance to reports from the Force headquarters stating that Journalist, other essential workers are not included in the national curfew, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has countered the report, stating that all essential workers are exempted from the restriction.
This development was contained in a statement made available to iBrandTV by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, titled, COVID-19: Enforcement of Restriction Orders.
According to the statement, “All essential workers including Medical Personnel, Firefighters, Ambulance Services, Journalists, etc are exempted from the restriction of movement associated with both the partial lockdown and the national curfew across the Federation.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed A. Adamu has therefore directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commands Commissioners of Police to give effect to these exemptions whilst enforcing the restriction orders.”
Recall that a statement emanated on Tuesday from the force headquarters stating that Journalist, other essential workers are only exempted from the partial lockdown and not national curfew.
