Rema has announced the release of his first single of 2025, titled Baby (Is It A Crime), set to drop on Friday, February 7, 2025.
The announcement was made via his Instagram account, following his appearance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for Best Global Album.
The new track samples Is It A Crime from the iconic Promise album by British band Sade. Baby (Is It A Crime) marks Rema’s first release since his sophomore album HEIS, which was released in 2024.
The album, featuring hit singles Azaman and Ozeba, received commercial success and was ranked among the top albums of 2024.
Rema’s HEIS album was a tribute to Nigerian music history, with the artist emphasising the importance of looking inward to the industry’s roots.
The track’s upbeat vibe is expected to be another hit in his growing discography.
In addition to his upcoming single, Rema has also announced dates for his European tour, which includes a performance at the 20,000-capacity Accor Arena in France.
The award-winning artiste, known for his chart-topping success, continues to break records, including becoming the first Afrobeats artiste to reach 1 billion Spotify streams and 1 billion YouTube views.
